Abecedarian Poem

All cold night

blank skies

clear and pure.

Dog barks, you hear

extreme warning–

For the house next door.

Garage open

hot heat coming from the car.

In the street of houses

jammed together.

Kin gone on vacation

left the houose empty.

Mice hide in long grasses.

Not to be caught

on hard cement paths

paved last year–

quiet shadows roam

running up

side of tall trees–teeter–

under the soil roots

very old earth

weary of wear and tear–

X marks the spot

you watch it.

Zero on the computer clock.
