What I read in March

The Autograph Man by Zadie Smith

I read this novel expecting the usual sharp insights and entertainment storylines that Zadie Smith usually writes.

Unfortunately, this novel was disappointment. I found the characters uninteresting and humor unrelatable and it felt flat.

The novels I have read by Zadie Smith before having made you want to read and not stop reading until the end. Then you were sad because you wanted to read more about the story line and characters’ lives.

However, this book took me really long time to finish. Many times, I forgot about the plotline and did not really care about the characters’ lives.

The novel is I think supposed to be critical of celebrities and consumer stereotypes. However, I feel like I could not really understand this book like I was missing something, and I did not know what.

Overall, I would not recommend this novel but Zadie Smith’s novel in general is entertaining and insightful.
