Autumn in the City

Autumn in the City

The Crisp air bites my fingers,
I feel the long, cold nights,
friends feel far and near,
It lingers the darkness weighs you down.

I walk strange streets with house lights,
staring blankly back a depressing hew,
one far away I long to see anew,
loneliness can break you apart into pieces.

I walk slowly alone and come to,
a realization “what to-do,”
I cannot find a direction, now and,
Why not us, if you could send me a love grant?

We could fund each other–
There is little time left.
I see trees bare, and leaves fallen,
I dance around, full of love and I chant.
