I strive to expand my reading by exploring new authors and themes in poetry. What makes a good writer is being a good reader. I find most of my inspiration from reading and everyday life.
Contemporary American Poetry by Donald Hall

I found this little book entertaining. It had many poets whom I had never heard of before. I found a few of the poems inspiring. I use my reading of poetry to find new ideas for my own writing. Also, I like to mimic what I read in my own work. Doing this is the easiest and most affordable way to find prompts for your writing. I recommend this book for writing prompt inspiration.
The Restaunt of Lost Recipes by Hisashi Kashiwai

This is actually my first exposure to Japanese fiction. I really liked this book. The book is a cool mix of cozy, heartfelt stories about people’s personal mysteries in their lives. I found some of the stories made me laugh out loud. It was a fun read. I recommend it if you are looking for a feel-good story.
