Three Feel-Good Reads

I recently have been under a lot of pressure, so when it comes to reading, I do not want something heavy or dark. So I’m sharing my favorite feel-good reads with you.

The Number One Ladies’ Detective Series by Alexander McCall Smith

These books are funny and light mysteries that focus on personal life issues rather than murders, drugs, domestic violence, or other disturbing themes. Alexander McCall Smith also has a wide range of books, from detective mysteries and personal life stories to romantic comedies. I enjoy all this writer’s books, and they are my go-to feel-good reads.

All Creatures Great and Small Series by James Herriot

I have loved this series since childhood and regularly return to it because of its ability to calm me and pull me into another world. As a child I loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian, and I still enjoy his stories about animals and the people that own them. I highly recommend this book series if you like hearing about the life of an amazing vet and his patients and their interesting owners and hilarious mishaps.

Historical Romances Series by Georgette Heyer

If you are looking for a funny and enjoyable historical romance series, I highly recommend Georgette Heyer’s books. I like reading her romances because they are light and always have happy endings for the heroine of the romance. Also, Georgette Heyer is respected for her historical fiction being well thought out for a fiction writer of her era.
